woodstock academy 2012-2013 calendar
This cover I think shows a lot of Woodstock Academy's character. Everybody in the academy knows the centaur in the Bowen Lobby and the flagpole outside, also. The main elements of design I used in this piece were texture and lines to move you through the cover. The focal point is definitely the centaur holding the flag and it is most important because it is, in my opinion, a great symbol for the academy.

senegal t-shirt design
For the theme of my t-shirt design I wanted to make a big focus on the quote "open hearts, open minds" while incorporating it with an abstract style star from the Senegalese flag and also using the Senegal Parrot. I tried to focus on keeping the design balanced and not too complicated but a good amount of imagery and it seems to work. The front and back of the shirt have a lot of similarities, just one has more imagery. The main similarity between the front and back is the abstract star in back.

Updated Animation
The purpose and theme of this animation was to see how I can portray something morphing from one thing to another smoothly. Some of the changes in the parts of this animation are more drastic than others because I went from just playing around with saturation and a glow effect and then I started using filters later on.
By far, tweening made the fading the best part of this animation, the background transitions a lot nicer than I thought photoshop would be able to do.
I discovered a lot of things about photoshop while working on this project because it was my first time working with animations in photoshop so all of these things like tweening and being able to actually make things move were great discoveries.
One thing that I do not know why it happened are the white lines that show up randomly in the middle of the animation; I did not get this in photoshop but it adds a neat effect, more depth is always good I guess.

This is my second "Built By Man" typography project. For my first version of it I was using the lines you see when you take a picture of a computer screen or TV that are all different colors. The colors for the font in this version were pieces of one of those pictures altered by changing around the hue, color, contrast, and then playing with filters like glowing edges. In this version I looked a lot more towards typography and making the font look nice.

Paper folding assignment
Up above is my finished paper folding product and below is my original Photoshop work.
In this project I tried to show as much movement and flow as I could without it getting too out of hand. Almost all of the right side image was done with the transform tool in Illustrator. The background of the left side was a regular red Color Halftone pattern altered by filters and shapes thrown over it. I had some fun making this piece but I'm not sure if I am totally happy with how it came out because I am not too good with origami type projects.

More designs!
Solitude by Joe Fenton
Really cool detailed illustration, done with what looks like just a regular pen.Steady as She Goes by Luca Ionescu
Amazing 3D sculpture piece.
Chilled Acoustic by Paul Clements
Really crazy photo I think using both photoshop skills and aftereffects.Gateway to Hell by Wojciech Magierski
Last 2 are part of the same project called The World Inside Us that I just found were great silhouette pictures.
The Art of Negative Space: Coexistence
I think the use of negative space is really cool, I love looking at these types of artworks.
All of this artwork was found on behance.net

graphs with expressions (2)
High Shoulders by Martin O'brien
Lumberjackass by Georges Le Mercenaire
Both of these artists I think are great at showing humor. Animals with human expressions seems to make anything pretty funny. The top picture I also think is funny just because of the clever thought how a lot of animals look funny with really long legs.
graphics with expressions
These shirts made by one of my favorite artists, Mike Karolos, remind me of fun in general. The clever idea with how good the design looks makes me love these designs. 3D designs are always fun to look at because of the blurriness and the record showing the i in hip and the o in hop makes me like the second design a lot.

Surrealist Design
When I made this as my first photoshop design I felt like my art is a lot different than it was when I was working with illustrator. A lot of things I found more complicated working with layers of pretty much just images. The thing I like the most to fool around with in photoshop is the variety of filters. I feel like photoshop will mostly be knowing how to alter hues to make things look like they fit in.

Smirap Designs Poster
Mike Karolos is one of my favorite graphic designers. He works on all different things from mousepads to skateboards to t-shirts with his design project that he calls "Smirap." Mike has lived his whole life in Greece and he works at an art studio in Athens. Most of his work is influenced by graffiti. He mostly created abstract design but he also does a lot of typography (which you can see in the bottom left). If you want to check out more of his stuff go to his website - smirapdesgins.daportfolio.com or check out his store - www.behance.net/gallery/Smirap_Designs-Store/366093. The first time I saw one of his designs I was instantly attracted to pretty much all of his works. I think it's his style that makes me love his art. He has a very wide variety of things you can buy at his store so you should definitely go check it out! If you looked at more of his art I'm sure you'd love it just as much as I do.

Emotions through text - Rage Vs. Flustered
The way a line is drawn effects the full mood of a design because it changes the flow and look to make the people who look at the design feel that emotion that the designer is trying to show.

Burden of a Day Logo
In this logo I experimented with a lot of new things. In the logo project I did a lot with the pen tool. I also fooled around a lot with different text to fit the sad theme I was going for. Another tool I used was the bloat tool to form the puddle. The assignment was to make a logo for a company or group so I picked the band Burden of a Day and made the feel when I think of that expression in general mixed with the dark theme of the band. When I thought of the word sad it made me think of all the things in this logo like the puddle, teardrops, and the sad man with the top hat who looks like he's holding a lot inside. Also, I thought the reflection matched a lot with the theme I was going for. The black and white and average use of the pen tool makes it original.

More Digital Graffiti
I picked these designs because I love the aspect of digital graffiti. There are so many different styles and forms of digital graffiti too; none of it's the same. Go check it out!
4 design cover page
In this design I incorporated a mix of things that I used a lot of in my designs like the twirl tool and the color halftone and I also fooled around a lot with different things to do with text.
Latest design - color
This is probably the design I had the most fun with but also took me the most time so far. I experimented a lot with different things like the clipping mask, the twirl tool (my new favorite), and outlining objects with the pen tool. This is probably my favorite design so far.

No color free for all!
This project is a work in progress. I made it my own by using a wide variety of effects, gradients, and objects. I used a lot of circles and spirals to form movement in the design and I experimented with the transform and pen tool more also. One of my favorite effects is the mezzotint, which I used for the background layer. This project was a free for all but I could only use black and white. It is original because it is a lot of the basic tools between the shapes, pen, and spiral tools. Any ideas on what else I could form in this design?
